we recently took on a project to manufacture a smart lock panel with exacting specifications for our international client. The panel’s surface finish was not only required to have exceptional oxidation resistance but also demanded a unique aesthetic feature: a chamfered edge that was free of oxidation layers, resulting in a high – gloss finish around the perimeter.

Initial Challenges

During the first production run, we encountered significant difficulties. Achieving a uniform width of the high – gloss edge proved to be a major hurdle. Despite our best efforts, the width of the high – gloss area around the edge varied, which did not meet the strict standards set by the client.

First Round of Improvements

Determined to rectify the issue, our engineering team immediately went back to the drawing board. We revised the production process and redesigned the fixtures used in the manufacturing process. These changes were aimed at providing more consistent pressure and alignment during the chamfering and finishing operations. When we conducted the second trial production, the results showed substantial improvement. The overall appearance of the smart lock panels was much closer to the desired standard, but we still fell short of the client’s exacting expectations.

Final Breakthrough

Not willing to settle for anything less than perfection, we decided to make a significant investment in our production equipment. We sourced high – speed machinery capable of operating at speeds in excess of 30,000 revolutions per minute. Paired with these high – speed machines, we used high – hardness cutting tools designed to provide a more precise and consistent cut. Additionally, we optimized the cooling system to ensure that the materials maintained their integrity during the high – speed machining process.

Client Satisfaction

The final product was a resounding success. The high – gloss edges of the smart lock panel had a uniform width, and the oxidation resistance of the surface far exceeded the initial requirements. When we presented the final product to the client, they were extremely satisfied with the results. Our commitment to quality, combined with our willingness to innovate and adapt our production methods, allowed us to overcome multiple challenges and deliver a product that met the most demanding international standards.
